Eric Schmitt-Matzen

When I was a little kid, Christmas was a bigger deal to me, but as I got older Santa and his elves meant nothing to me. The phrase, “You’re Santa’s number one helper,” lost its meaning. It happens to a lot of kids, but that very phrase meant the world to one little kid. Eric Schmitt-Matzen held a dying child in his arms. Eric told that little boy that he was Santa’s number one helper. The little boy gave his last hug to Santa and he asked Santa to help him, then he passed. Everyone seems to be giving this man grief about an unbelievable story. This story may be crazy but who is to say that it isn’t real. Who is to say that this man didn’t see a little boy die in arms. Sources say that Eric didn’t come to the news with the story, but would someone who wanted their “fifteen minutes of fame” come to the news with the story. A five year old boy dies and all people can do is judge and ridicule this man. The same man who gave a dying little five year old boy hope when he was about to die. The boy knew he was about to die but Santa gave him hope to hold on. The boy asked him for help because right before he saw the light, he had hope that maybe just maybe he could get better. So all the facts may not be checked, but Eric Schmitt-Matzen gave that little boy one of the best Christmases any ask for.
